TMS320F28035: PWM frequency

Part Number: TMS320F28035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Dear Teams,

Could I check with what is the maximum PWM frequency that F28035 supported? If customer not able to increase the frequency to 200KHz, what kinds of reason it might have?

Thanks!

Dylan

  • Dylan,

Please note that today, July 5th, is a US holiday.  You should expect a reply no later than end of day tomm, July 6th.  Appreciate your patience.

  • Dylan,

F28035 supports 60MHz clock speeds. The PWM also operates at on this clocking domain.

The PWM output frequency will be determined by the following formulas.

If the device is not outputting at 200KHz I would first suspect TBPRD to be wrong. It could also be due to CMPx registers being wrong. OR even the PLL could be configured wrong resulting in a lower-than-expected SYSCLK frequency.

Check the TBPRD and CMPx registers, if they look correct check the system clock frequency using SYSCLKOUT. If its still not working load the example code from C2000Ware and modify the TBPRD there to see if you can achieve your desired frequency.

    Regards,
    Cody
