TMS320F28035: No program in the F28035

Part Number: TMS320F28035
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UNIFLASH

Dear Expert

In June 2021, 13PCS failed successively in the production ATE test. The failure phenomenon is that after the production burning procedure, there was no program in the F28035, so the burning procedure cannot be repeated. After the update of the new chip, the product is OK.

Could u help to provide some suggestion about this failure ,we mass-produced a total of 8600PCS

Below is schemetic.

  • My understanding of the problem is as follows:

Flash programming failure occurred during production. Flash was blank. Unable to reprogram such a failed device. After replacing the failed device with a new device, programming operation was successful. 13 devices failed in this manner out of the 8600 devices used. Is this correct?

Please answer every question below carefully:

    1. How did you determine flash was "blank"? Did you examine the contents of the failed device using CCS?
    2. Did you see all 0xFFFF in the entire flash array, including the password locations?
    3. Did you try to re-program the flash using CCS Flash plug-in (or) Uniflash?

One observation, that may not be related to the problem you are seeing: I see that internal VREG is being used. For this VREGENZ pin must be directly tied low, not through a resistor (R219).
