TMS320F280021: F280021 Schematic Feedback

Part Number: TMS320F280021

Hello,

I just finished wiring up the JTAG and power circuits for the F280021, and I want to make sure everything is correct.

Both the VDDIO and VDDA pins need a 3.3V supply, right?

Also, is that pull-up tied to VDDIO done correctly?

  • Please consult the Datasheet for recommendations, its kept up-to-date with all the latest recommended connections for each pin.https://www.ti.com/lit/gpn/tms320f280021

Yes both VDDIO and VDDA should be connected to 3.3V. Please note that they both have decoupling capacitor requirements mentinoed in the DS.

Also, is that pull-up tied to VDDIO done correctly?

Are you talking about the TMS pin? This needs a pull-up resistor to 3.3V, it doesn't specifically have to be VDDIO. Looking at your net names VCC_3V3 connects to VDDIO and then VDDIO connects to that pull-up so you're OK.

    Ps,

    • VDD has more bulk capacitance than you need.
    • Check with your VREG that 22uF is correct bulk cap on the 3.3V rail.
    • XRS is still critical to connect, please follow DS.
    • I did not verify the ti14 pin JTAG connections
    • Please ensure that your ESD protection diodes are appropriate for this application.

    Regards,
    Cody

  • Thank you so much for the feedback, Cody.
