CCSTUDIO-C2000: Makefile to reduce build time of projects

Did you create a custom makefile on your own and building it strictly from the command line by manually calling (g)make?

I looked through the API https://software-dl.ti.com/ccs/esd/documents/ccs_projects-command-line.html under the com.ti.ccstudio.apps.projectBuild there is an option -css.buildType(incremental | full |clean)

The documentation suggests that incremental is the default, perhaps you can try to set this option explicitly, I would think this should only re-compile if there is a file change, else will just re-link the existing OBJs.

Hi Matthew,

That document is specific to building CCS projects from the command line. Gopal is not using CCS (or Eclipse) projects of any sort. He created his own makefile and is calling make on it directly.

I will re-iterate what Ki said, since this is not using the TI tools/IDE C2000 team is in the same position as Ki for assistance with non-TI toolchain.  There may be some thoughts from the community on your question, however.  You may also consider posting to the GNU forum for help.
