CCSTUDIO-C2000: C2000 Compiler Code Analysis tool : Compliance with MISRA-C:2004 standard

Hello,

I am currently working on a project involving a TMS320 Micro-controller and our team has to provide evidence to the customer that our code complies to the MISRA-C:2004 "Required" rule set.

We use the analysis tool integrated in Code Compiler Studio. We set it up from the project properties in CCS Build>C2000 Compiler>Advanced Options>MISRA-C:2004.

Is there any existing documentation or compliance certificate from the MISRA foundation that would guarantee us to have all the "Required" Rules actually covered ?

I have not seen any forum post discussing about this but if it already exists, i'll be glad to know.

    Hi Gaspard, 

    Thanks for reaching out regarding your MISRA requirements.  In short, we do not have the level of support you are looking for with regards to MISRA-C:2004.  The MISRA support in our tool chain is tied to an older versions of the compiler and specifically, 20.2.0.LTS or earlier.  Our MISRA support is for basic compliance checking that can be used during early development.  We did not go through the process of obtaining Compliance certification etc., from the MISRA foundation.

    In addition, we have deprecated MISRA support in our tool chain from 21.6.0.LTS and future releases and do not have any plans to make any more updates.

    We recommend using standard COTS solutions such as LDRA, Klocwork etc., for MISRA compliance.
