TMS320F280023: About JTAG circuit and GPIO28/29

Genius 5300 points
Part Number: TMS320F280023
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SYSCONFIG

Hi experts,

When I was checking the datasheet of the F280023, there was a point that caught my attention, so let me confirm it just in case.

Q1:In the JTAG circuit, it is TRST open, but on the device side, it is Input pin, so there is no problem. Is this concept correct?

Q2:The RX and TX of SCI-A and LIN-A of GPIO28/29 are different from each other. Is the datasheet correct?

Considering the boot pin settings, the combination of SCIRXDA:GPIO28 and SCITXDA:GPIO29 is correct. Also, the SysConfig settings are the same as in the datasheet, but I was curious because the relationship between SCI and LIN is different for this pin only.

Best regards,
O.H

  • Hi,

    Answers to your questions below:

Q1:In the JTAG circuit, it is TRST open, but on the device side, it is Input pin, so there is no problem. Is this concept correct?

--> TRST pin is not used on the device side, there are only 4 JTAG pins needed, TCK, TMS, TDI and TDO. State of TRST pin from emulator side does not matter.

Q2:The RX and TX of SCI-A and LIN-A of GPIO28/29 are different from each other. Is the datasheet correct?

--> Yes, DS is correct, SCI and LIN are two different modules on the device, so maybe it is kept that way intentionally.
