F28M36P63C2: functional safety support for F28M36P63C2

Hello,

I am looking into the possibility of achieving SIL2 level of functional safety for our system which uses F28M36P63C2 microcontroller. Could you please give me some brief information if reaching SIL2 is possible, especially since there is a bunch of TI microcontrollers already certified or capable of achieving SIL2/3? What is also worrying me is the state of controlsuite which is no longer supported. The new C2000Ware libraries however do not support F28M36P63C2 according to the website (https://www.ti.com/tool/C2000WARE?baseDir=C:/ti/controlSUITE/~cs_desktop/controlSUITE). I would like to verify whether C2000Ware can be used with firmware written for F28M36P63C2 microcontroller. If not, are there are any other libraries supporting F28M36P63C2 which are still being updated?

Also, the safety compiler qualification kit does not seem to support our microcontroller anymore (https://www.ti.com/tool/SAFETI_CQKIT). Is it also the case, or can they actually be used for F28M36P63C2?

Hi Lukasz,

The F28M36x content is available only in controlSUITE with no plans to update and is not supported in C2000Ware.

Regarding the compiler support , will request the compile team to answer your query.

The safety compiler qualification kit is not specific to the device, it is specific to the compiler you use to build your program. Your device has C2000 and Arm CPU cores on it, and the kits for both of those compilers are available.

Thanks for your help. That answers my question. I was only confused by the fact that F28M36xx is not listed among supported devices for ARM_SAFETI_CQKIT_RV compiler
