DRV8301-69M-KIT: Motor Startup with Hall BLDC mode : Noise in BLDC Mode

Part Number: DRV8301-69M-KIT

Earlier we posted questions on motor startup, thanks for the help. Finally we could start the vehicle/ motor successfully with BLDC mode during start up. We are using Lab 11e for our prototype testing.

Now the motor starts all the time properly, but it produces noise while in BLDC mode, in FAST mode it is very quiet.  Need your help in addressing the noise issue.

Enclosing the video, where is motor starts with BLDC then transition to FAST.

Motor : Sinewave / PMSM.

gHall_speed_BldcToFast_high_pu : 50rpm

gHall_speed_FastToBldc_low_pu  : 30rpm

Ki, Kp are tuned as per lab 5a.

  • This is normal appearance since the trapezoidal control is used with hall sensor during startup and very low speed, and then transmit to the FAST estimator. It's not possible to achieve the similar noisy performance as the FAST.
