Can I get full fledged FLASH .cmd file for this processor ?

  • Hi,

    What do you mean by a full fledged Flash command file? There are a couple of linker command files provided in C2000Ware for F2802x devices - F28023.cmd and F2802x_generic_flash.cmd files which you can refer.

    Best Regards

    Siddharth

  • Looks at the piccolo .cmd file below that utilizes IQmath and _IQmath Tables and I use it for F28027 piccolo processor.

    However, I do NOT see any .cmd FLASH in C2000Ware that has _IQmath for TMS320F280023 processor !! Let me know how to utilize FPU, FINTDIV, TMU units in this processor as well,

  • Hi,

    The file  F28023.cmd does have the IQMath entries, it is located in <C2000WareInstallDir>\device_support\f2802x\common\cmd folder.

    Best Regards

    Siddharth

  • need F280023.cmd with IQmath etc mapped for FLASH. NOT F28023.cmd as you replied.

  • Hi,

    Got confused since you mentioned the device as "TMS320F28023". You can use the linker cmd file "28002x_generic_flash_lnk" located in <C2000WareInstallDir>\device_support\f28002x\common\cmd folder and change the following lines

    /* Allocate IQ math areas: */
    IQmath : > FLASH_BANK0_SEC1, ALIGN(8)
    IQmathTables : > FLASH_BANK0_SEC2, ALIGN(8)

    Best Regards

    Siddharth

  • thanks Siddharth for responding,

    Further questions:

    1. Do I need to specify the BOOT ROM memory location of IQTABLE in "28002x_generic_flash_lnk" as did in "PICCOLO" as following ?

    /////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    IQTABLES : origin = 0x3FE000, length = 0x000B50 /* IQ Math Tables in Boot ROM */
    IQTABLES2 : origin = 0x3FEB50, length = 0x00008C /* IQ Math Tables in Boot ROM */
    IQTABLES3 : origin = 0x3FEBDC, length = 0x0000AA /* IQ Math Tables in Boot ROM */

    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

    or just "BOOTROM: origin = 0x003F0000, length = 0x00008000" in "28002x_generic_flash_lnk" is good enough. Can you explain this ?

    2. How do I utilize FPU, FINTDIV, TMU units in F280023 uC ? pl. guide.

    3. Do you have any sample code utilizing FPU, FINTDIV, TMU units in F280023 uC ?

  • Hi,

    1. You can refer the TRM  section "Boot ROM Memory Maps" and define the IQTABLES in the linker command

    2.  You can enable the compiler options in the project to utilize the  --float_support=fpu32 --tmu_support=tmu0 and use compiler instrincs in your code

    Refer the compiler user guide section 7.6 www.ti.com/.../spru514w.pdf

    3.  You can take a look at the examples provided in C2000Ware . For each library , there are few examples provided.

    Best Regards
