TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: HVMTR high voltage kit

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CCSTUDIO, MOTORWARE

I have got TMDSHVMTRINSPIN board and testing it today. I've checked all connections based on the documents "GUI Quick Start Guide: InstaSPIN_FOC_F2806xM" and "HVMTR Rev 1p1 Hardware Quick Start Guide". I tried both following:

v. J2

1. For DC bus input (recommended): Do NOT Populate J2 and a. connect 50-350V DC supply from BS6 to BS5

2. For AC input: Populate J2 Bridge-Middle 5

a. connect banana cable from BS5 to BS1

b. connect AC power cord to P1

So, whenever I just start InstaSPIN_FOC_F28069xM, I receive this message:

Restarting Program Model...
Initializing target : C:\ti\guicomposer\webapps\InstaSPIN_FOC_F2806xM\appConfig.ccxml
Connecting target: Texas Instruments XDS100v2 USB Emulator_0/C28xx
sun.org.mozilla.javascript.internal.WrappedException: Wrapped com.ti.ccstudio.scripting.environment.ScriptingException: Error connecting to the target: emulation failure occurred (<Unknown source>#14) in <Unknown source> at line number 14Restart Completed.

I tried connecting to the controller using CCS, and the target configuration can recognize the target there, but, I can not run InstaSPIN-FOC successfully.

Can you please help me with this issue?

  • I should add that I have inserted the F28069M iso control card on the board station and connected through J1( Isolated Jtag). I just attached the picture to show my connections.

I also checked all the following files and can not figure out the issue.

  • Hello Mahshid, Please make sure all the power supplies are intact and the first thing to validate would be detection of XDS in device manager.

  • Actually, I just closed and reopened the GUI for INSTA_SPIN today and it could initialize the motor. I made sure to have at least 50V for DC bus voltage. Also, it seems that when I want to open InstaSPIN_FOC, the ccs debug session should be closed, otherwise I get that error.
