SM320F28335-EP: Can this be used on a lead free board used in industrial application?

Part Number: SM320F28335-EP

We use the TMSSM320F28335 which is ROHS and REACH compliant.

In SM320F28335-EP datasheet the words ROHS and REACH doesn't exist.

Is the finish of the pins suitable for leadfree soldering?

  • Just want to clarify if you are using the TQFP or BGA version of the device.  The TQFP device is ROHS/REACH compliant, no lead in the finish and can be used in your leadfree flow.

The BGA is the variant that still uses lead/tin in the solder balls.

If you need to use the BGA in a leadfree environment I can't give guidance here, I think your PCB house would be in a better position to give input on what is allowed/not allowed flow wise.

    Best,

    Matthew
