Hi,

How can Code Composer Studio V8 be configured for multiprocessor Debugging? I have 2 processors TMS320F28335 and TMS320F2810 connected in the same JTAG path.

With earlier versions of CCS, separate windows for each processor could be run in parallel while debugging. How is it possible with CCS V8 (or any eclipse based CCS)?

Yes you can do this with current CCS versions also:

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. I have a few more queries.

1. How the Target Configuration file for the multiple CPUs to be created?

I have created a Target Configuration file with the 2 CPUs, with the second CPU as slave, as shown in the image attached.

Is the same Target Configuration file to be added to the respective projects of the 2 CPUs?

2. Please explain how to add "Initialization Script field to specify a single JavaScript for target initialization for all CPUs (Main)" , in Debug configuration

You should have 2 device separate entries instead of adding an additional CPU under the F28335 device entry.

I attached my ccxml as an example:

Please see section 7.2.2 regarding debug configurations:

Note that an initialization script is a DSS javascript. You do not necessarily need an initialization script if you are using the existing GEL scripts. In fact, initialization scripts are fairly uncommon compared to GEL scripts
