Yes this is possible. A better option would be to use TMDSCNCD28388D instead, since F2838x has EtherCAT ESC integrated into the device.

We made quite a bit of progress in the R&D project with the TMDSECATCNCD379D development kit. Therefore, I do not plan to change this development kit for now.

TMDSECATCNCD379D with ET1100 is for EtherCAT, not Ethernet. There is something called Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE), maybe you're interested in that?

The sample application discussion for TMDSECATCNCD379D is in the guide below. It doesn't showcase EoE however, though the SSC tool can generate the code/stack for that I believe.

Yes, I'm interested in Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE).

How can I generate code/stack for Ethernet over EtherCAT (EoE) with SSC tool? Can TI make a sample application about this?

Some information on EoE and beckhoff SW Stack in the prior E2E below. We do not have any current plans to make a sample EoE application, on F2838x device either (since it has Ethernet module on the device itself).

The TMDSCNCD28388D device has separate RJ45 connectors for both Ethernet and EtherCAT communication. In the TMDSECATCNCD379D kit, there is only an RJ45 connector for EtherCAT. But wouldn't Ethernet and EtherCAT communication be better with a single RJ45 connector?
