Can you try to set the breakpoint at line# 63 or 67? I think software breakpoint can only be set on executable statement or the block.

Thank you, Santosh for your quick feedback. I get the same behavior if I set the breakpoints in lines #63 and #67, please see the below image.

Extra information about the project (Example) I'm currently debugging.

I'm using the example can_ex5_transmit_receive from C:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_4_01_00_00\driverlib\f28002x\examples\can and all the compiler optimization are OFF.

Does this debugger (over the USB cable that came with the EVB) not capable of setting HW breakpoints?

Hi Jarold,

C2000 devices supports hardware breakpoint. Please refer to link below for detailed instruction:

C2000 devices two AU units, and therefore there is a limitation on how many hardware breakpoint one can set. 

TMS320F28002x device has ERAD module which enhances the debugging capability significantly. There are few examples in C2000Ware SDK which illustrate the debugging capabilities using ERAD.

Yes, this is similar behavior to other uC. However, I'm trying to set 1 breakpoint and the HW breakpoint is not available when trying to set it, I think this is the issue, please see the screenshot below:

Do you know why the HW breakpoints are not available in the screenshot below? Do I need to configure anything in the CCXML file?

Are you able to run the can_ex5_transmit_receive  example in the EVB?

I just tried on my setup and I am able to set the breakpoint. Please see the screenshot below:

Did you launch the debug session? It should be available after you press the 'debug' icon. There is no change in ccxml file required for setting breakpoint.

Thanks for supporting this issue. My colleague helped me to realize that the example was not properly importing the program configuration, after fixing that I'm able to set HW breakpoints.
