Hello,

Is it possible to configure the ADC as differential (rather than single-ended) on all C2000 microcontrollers? Specifically I'm wondering about whether that's possible for the TMS320F28069M microcontroller because I don't see any mention of that on the datasheet for the TMS320F28069M. For the TMS320F28379D microcontroller that I've used in the past, it says on the datasheet that the ADCs can be configured as either 12 bit single-ended signals or 16-bit differential signals. However since it doesn't say anything anything similar on the TMS320F28069M datasheet, does that mean that differential ADCs are not possible on the TMS320F28069M microcontroller?

The TMS320F2806x device does not support differential mode, only the F2807x, F2837xD, F2837xS, F2838x devices support differential mode.

Hi Marlyn, thanks for your reply. Even though the TMS320F2806x device does not support differential mode, would there still be an advantage for common-noise rejection to wire as you would for differential ADCs (apply differential signals to ADCINA0 and ADCINA1 for example) and then just perform the subtraction in software? Or is there some reason that would not work?

Yes, this is something you could do if you have enough software overhead to take care of the subtraction through software.
