DRV8301-69M-KIT: Skip motor identification using user.h parameters with Instapin-Motion GUI

Part Number: DRV8301-69M-KIT
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

Hi,

I am testing the DRV8301-69M-KIT drive kit with simply the demonstration GUI (instaspin-motion). I don't have a lot of experience with microcontrollers and c projects so this is easier for me. On the "Motor Identification" tab, I can choose the "user.h settings" for the identification method. If I click on "Identify Motor", I see some user.h default settings appearing. My question is: How can I change the user.h default settings so that I can skip the identification process? Where is the user.h file used for the demonstration GUI?

During my dynamometer tests due to some faults which I cannot reset (using the "Reset DRV fault" button in the GUI). I have to shut down the drive and do the identification step each time which is time consuming.

Thank you

Jeff

  • You can find the user's guide in the motorWare, just follow the guide to run the motor with the GUI if you are using the TI EVM kit. You have to identify the motor first, the InstaSPIN-Motion GUI doesn't support the user.h settings.

You can use the universal GUI for boosterPack, please follow the guide in the folder below to use this GUI if you don't want to identify the motor.

  • Ok, thank you Yanming. The guide in this folder is more up to date than the one I was following and have more information. I will look at the Universal GUI.
