TMS320F28069: TMS320F28069 and XDS100V2 Clicking "Run" -> "Connect target" RESETS the processor - how do I HALT it instead ?

Part Number: TMS320F28069

There is an issue with my firmware I need to resolve. When I encounter that bug I bring the board back to my development system and connect the XDS100v2 Jtag module to my board and Click "Run" -> "Connect target"

This action always RESETS the processor. I need to know how to simply make it HALT instead;  because I am trying to catch a condition that occurs in runtime without changing the environment variables in SRAM

So in short how can I get "Run" -> "Connect Target" to HALT and not RESET the processor

  • Hello,

One thing to check is if you are using a startup GEL file. If you are, check the OnTargetConnect() callback function and see if there is a reset call in there.

For example, the OnTargetConnect() callback function in the f28069.gel file has a GEL_Reset() call.

  • That seems to work. Thank you

For anyone running Code Composer under Linux my GEL file (f28069.gel) was found in (right click on c28x on the debug screen and select "Open Gel Files View") the following directory
