LAUNCHXL-F28069M: Motor stops after a jerk immediately

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28069M
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: MOTORWARE

I have tested both motors in open loop running one motor at a time using lab 1c using BOOSTXL 8305EVM. However when I run the motor in a torque control closed loop they suddenly stop after a jerky motion. I'm unable to find out what the error is from the Debug mode registers. What could be the cause and could you advise how and where to find the error in the Debug mode?

Many thanks,

Vijay

  • Hi,

The expert is out of the office because of Holiday. Please expect a reply by Tuesday.

    Thanks.

  • Did you monitor the motor phase current to see if there is any over current fault? Are you running this motor without load using lab01c? Any reference speed you used in lab01c to spin this motor?

The lab01c is only used to verify the hardware by running the motor with current closed-loop and position open-loop. It can't be used to run a motor with load, especially heavy load.

You have to run the motor with lab05a by following the lab user's guide.
