Hi team,

In the reference design TIDA-010231，the SDOA (Serial data output for converter A) and SDOB pin (Serial data output for converter B) of the ADS8363 are connected to the GPIO16 pin and GPIO24 pin of the F280049C respectively.

GPIO16 and GPIO24 are both the salve in, master out (SIMO) pins, but as I understand the SDOA and SDOA of ADC should be connected to the slave out, master in (SOMI) GPIO.

I'm confused about this question, could you please help give some comments?

Your observation does look correct. SDOA / SDOB pins should be connected to SOMI pin and not SIMO pins. I will check with our system engineers and get back with you.

Hi Ivy,
The SPI configuration for the ADS8363 is a little different since you have to interface a the two datelines of ADS8363 to two separate SPI modules of the MCU. This approach is shown in the following document. In TIDA-010231 we use the same approach, but use 2 SPI modules to receive data from Data Out and Data Out B of the ADC.

In this configuration both SPI modules of the C2000 are put into slave mode and the master is emulated by providing a clock via the PWM module.
Since MCU is slave, SIMO is the correct pin to connect the data coming from the ADC.
