TMDSCNCD28069MISO: Compiler error return c++ source files are not allowed for CLA

Hi,

I am currently using compiler TI v22.6.0.LTS and when I am trying to compile my project (composed of .cpp .c files) with the option ''Treat C files as CLA files'' check I get the following error message with from all my .cpp files:
C++ source files are not allowed for CLA

I get the same error when using TI v21.6.1.LTS.

However, on a older project TI v18.12.0.LTS was used and there was no error. I tried for this project and same result.

I would prefer to use a more recent compiler if possible.

CLA compiler supports only .C file.

Hi Santosh,

I think I have not been clear with my intentions. I am aware that CLA compiler only supports .C files.

What I wish is that my .C files are compiled with the CLA compiler while my .Cpp files are compiled by the generic compiler (in that case 22.6.0.LTS).

What surprise me is that the option states "Treat C files as CLA files" but the compiler also seems to treat .Cpp files as CLA files.

yes I see the same issue also. I am investigating further and keep you posted of my progress.

CCS applies every option, including "Treat C files as CLA files", to every source file in the project. Older versions of the compiler did not issue an error when this option is applied to a file with extension .cpp. That was a bug that has since been corrected.

That is unusual. Most projects have one CLA source file, and it is signaled by using the file extension .cla.

To get this effect, remove the option "Treat C files as CLA files" at the project level. Then, using the CCS feature for file specific options, apply that option only to the files which need it. For this to be practical, there can only be a few such files.
