TMS320F28376D: Comparison of advantages

Part Number: TMS320F28376D

Hi,

Some of my clients use F280666, F28027, F28066 and F280025. Now they want to change to F28376D. Is it difficult to transplant the software architecture changes?

Many thanks~

  • Hello Rhea,

Are there specific peripherals that the clients are using on those devices that they're looking to migrate? It might help to narrow down the scope of what changes will be happening to their architecture.

    Best regards,

    Omer Amir

  • Rhea,

It is not possible to provide a simple answer. It is not just software, there are many other factors that need to be considered for migration. A few examples below:

    • Number of pins (package compatibility)
    • Operating voltage (1.8v Vs 1.2v)
    • Peripheral compatibility (Eg: F2806x has eCAN. Newer devices have DCAN. These modules are completely different from a software perspective)
    • Even common peripherals may have changes/ enhancements.

To get an idea, have the customer review some migration guides. They would give them an idea of the scope of changes while moving from one device to another.  Migration guide examples at www.ti.com/lit/SPRUIY3 & www.ti.com/lit/SPRACR0.
