TMS320F280039C: TZCTL 00 and 11

Part Number: TMS320F280039C

Dear Champs,

I am asking this for our customer.

TZCTL

About its setting,

00: High-impedance (EPWMxB = High-impedance state)

...

11: Do Nothing, trip action is disabled

We are confused about 00 and 11.

What's the difference?

If the user just want to use action qualifier and deadband for PWM output, should they use 00 or 11?

Besides, if they want to use TZCTL.DCAEVT2 and TZCTL.TZB, do they need to set TZCTL.DCBEVT2 = 11 and TZCTL.TZA = 11? Or just leave them as 00 by default?

  • Hi Wayne,

By default, all trips are disabled, and can only be enabled through the TZSEL register. If the customer does not touch this register and leaves the trips as disabled, they do not need to configure these bits in the TZCTL register to keep the output from being affected. If the customer has enabled a trip but does not want that trip to affect the output, they should select 11 in TZCTL for that trip.

Let me know if you have any other questions.
