C2000-GANG: can't program multiple device simultaneously

Hi Team,

There's an issue from the customer need your help:

It’s okay to burn two devices individually, but you can’t burn both at the same time. If both are connected at the same time, only one of them can be burned. The other host computer shows that it is not connected. 

At present, there are two dsp chips of the same type on the driver board. The power supply and GND of the two are connected. The same program is burned. Now the burning can not be achieved at the same time and it is very unstable. Sometimes it can be burned and sometimes it can’t. No guidance on how to wire and configure the upper computer. I have read the user manual and have not solved it. I want to know whether the two chips are connected to the programmer alone or the two signal lines are connected in series. Also, see the manual for connecting the programmer. The Vext pin of the power supply should have an output voltage of 3.3V, but there is no voltage output after measurement. Is this normal?

This is a self-test report. There is no error before the connection, and an error is reported after the connection. The 3.3V of the chip is connected to the vext pin of the programmer, and the chip also has a separate power supply. The TMS, TDI, TDO, TCK, and TRST pins of the two chips are connected separately. The respective pins of the two channels of the programmer, the GND of the chip and the GND of the programmer are not connected. (In addition, I tried to connect the GND, but it is also invalid. I also tried that the chip is not powered separately, and the host computer reports an error VCC is low)

    Can you confirm which C2000 device is the target?

    The GANG supports multiple devices connected in parallel, with separate JTAG connections(in parallel) from the GANG.

    If there is only one JTAG connector for the 2 devices I am not sure if the GANG-C2000 supports addressing the by scan chain ID, is this what is being done currently?

    I would not try to power the devices from the GANG common supply, likely with more than 1 device there is not enough current to support devices esp during flashing operations. 

    Can you provide a picture of the setup, this may help to understand the configuration being used.
