TMS320F28379D: Stack Usage window in CCS 11

Part Number: TMS320F28379D

Hi TI team,

I'm using CCS V11.

I've set in the linker option a stack size of 0x500 (1280 bytes).

When looking at the Stack usage I see this:

Why does it say that I have only 132 bytes?

can you please elaborate on this?

BTW I'm using optimization level 2, not sure if it matters or not.

132 bytes the total calculated stack size and 128 is consumed by the function highlighted.

How the 132 total stack size is calculated?

In the linker options->total stack size I write the value 0x500 which is 1280 bytes.

It is calculated by the compiler based on the number of local variables created in each function.

Is there any documentation about this?

I wonder what happens if I nest interrupts? How the compiler knows about this?

It seems to me there's a mismatch between the CCS and what really happens in the device.

No, compiler does not have the knowledge on when the interrupt occurs. It basically calculates the stack size based on the number of local variables and functions called within. The actual stack size should be ore than this to account for interrupts.
