TMS320F280025C: Functional Safety certifications

Part Number: TMS320F280025C
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE

Dear e2e team,

I have few questions regarding the Functional Safety certifications for the TMS320F280025C:

  • Functional Safety Software Development Process (szzq188b.pdf (ti.com)). Which is the scope of this certificate? Which libraries and products are covered? Which SIL level is achieved for systematic capability?
  • Libraries certified according to 60730 (IEC60730SWPACKAGES Driver or library | TI.com) but they are not apparently available for the TMS320f280025C - Why? Do we have any certified library (mainly FlashAPI and DriverLib)?
  • How can my customer use these libraries according to our certification (IEC 61508, SIL3 level)?

Thanks,

Giorgia

  • F280025C is not a functional safety certified device. It is QM. We do have a diagnostic library for it (in C2000Ware under libraries/diagnostic) that can aid in implementing checks required by safety standards, but again, it is not certified to any safety standard--nor is Driverlib or the Flash API.

I'll share a link to a document that shows which devices we have that are certified and the related collateral: https://www.ti.com/lit/pdf/swab013
