TMS320F2800157-Q1: support with Instaspin_Universal GUI

Part Number: TMS320F2800157-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: C2000WARE, DRV8301-Q1, , C2000WARE-MOTORCONTROL-SDK

Hi Support Team,

As per the discussion and recommendation from your local support team in Delhi, India, we are designing the BLDC Driver for higher current rating 12s (50V) using

TMS320F2800157-Q1 + DRV8301-Q1

We want to know the development process.

==> The C2000Ware_MotorControl_SDK (4.02.01.00), it has SDK available for our shortlisted device F2800157.

Query:

In order to do the Tuning (Setting up the Gain of PI Controllers for speed and Current Loops) for the Driver for particular motor how we can do it. Does it support Instaspin_Universal FOC GUI ? Because anyway we need some GUI/Software tool to see the estimated parameters and to update the Gain Variables for speed and Current.

If the support is not there, then how we can do the tuning, what would be the process? May be by custom integration of Instaspin_Universal along with CCS!

Do you think the combination shortlisted TMS320F2800157-Q1 + DRV8301-Q1 is ok to be considered? We want latest device with possible ASIL B support for future.

Please suggest.

Regards
Ashish

Currently, the example Universal Motor Control Lab project for F280015x doesn't support the Instaspin_Universal FOC GUI. You may follow the lab user's guide to run the example lab within CCS that could be more powerful and flexible than using Instaspin_Universal FOC GUI.

Do you think the combination shortlisted TMS320F2800157-Q1 + DRV8301-Q1 is ok to be considered?

Yes. That depends on the dc bus voltage for DRV device. You can find the related DRV gater driver on ti.com for this.
