Hi Siddharth, I have gotten further with this problem. Now I have sysconfig added to the existing project, but it does not populate with the already written code. How can sysconfig be linked to this code?

I am not sure what you mean by "populate with already written code" .  SysConfig generates code based on the configuration that you have done in the GUI. Are you not able to see this code?

I can see the code generated by SysConfig and it is put into a folder named "SysConfig" in the CCS project. The same folder appears in the "Debug" folder in the project too. I used Simulink Coder to produce the original code in CCS. SysConfig does not pick that up and show it the SysConfig IDE. Also, even though the code shows up in the two mentioned folders in CCS, it is not used to build and deploy to hardware. Only the Simulink Coder code is deployed to hardware. Is SysConfig not capable of showing the Simulink Coder code in the SysConfig IDE?

Robert, 

The generated code from SysConfig needs to be invoked in your application code.  It generates "Board_init" function which needs to be called in your project code. If you do this, it will be built and deployed to hardware.
