TMS320F28075: question about read unowned flash

Dear TI engineers,

    Now, I want to add program backup function which means program would first download to flash bank1 and then copy bank1 to bank0 in TMS320F28377s. But old product used TMS320F28075 which only have half flash memory than TMS320F28377s.

    So, do you have some suggestion about distinguish these chips?

    I have an idea but I doubt whether it could work. In this way, I would write 0x01 to 0x000C 0000 in flash bank1 and read from same address after delay. If chip do not have flash bank1, maybe data could not write into it successfully.

    Did this method work well?
