F28M35H52C: F28M35H52C detailed power consumption

Part Number: F28M35H52C

The datasheet the F28M35x found here: https://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/f28m35e20b.pdf

has power consumption summary with peripherals turned on. I would like more detailed power consumption information.

More specifically, what's the power requirement for the individual peripherals. I would like to know the power requirement for the microcontroller as configured.

Unfortunately, we don’t have that information for this device. However, I can provide you some helpful pointers. Please take a look at 7.5.4.1 Typical Current Reduction per Disabled Peripheral in page 95 of www.ti.com/lit/SPRSP14. This device is fairly identical to the one you are using. As you can see, the peripheral currents are not very significant, in the big picture (about 65 mA compared to a total current of around 500mA in the operating mode). At best, you may save 15 to 20 mA by turning off the clock to peripherals that your application won't be using.

On a slightly different note, if you are considering this device for a new project, you may want to take a look at https://www.ti.com/product/TMS320F28388D?keyMatch=F28388D. It is significantly more powerful than the F28M35H52C and has more features, but costs about the same. Driver support for F28M35H52C was deprecated long time ago. However, F28388D is supported with a rich ecosystem.
