TMS320F2812: Crystal Selection

I have a question regarding the crystal resonator connected to X1/XCLKIN.

I am currently selecting this crystal oscillator, but the required specifications are not listed in the data sheet.

Could you please tell me about the required performance for frequency stability and jitter?

Is there any problem with the following performance?

Frequency: 30MHz

Frequency tolerance: ±15ppm

Total jitter: 40ps

                Parameters such as Frequency tolerance and Total Jitter are determined by your application, not by the on-chip crystal oscillator. In other words, you need to determine how much tolerance and jitter your application can tolerate. This does not impact the oscillator itself.

    On a different note, if this is for a new project, I’d like to encourage you to look at our newer generation of devices. While the F2812 is over 20 years old and we have no intentions of obsoleting it anytime soon, our newer devices are more powerful, offer more features often at a lower cost.

    I understood that the parameters of frequency tolerance and total jitter are determined by the application.

    For specific parameters, I will look at the application specification and decide.
