TMS320F28388D: ELF symbol table entry for uninitialized static variable incorrectly shows size of 0

The problem found in EXT_EP-11390 also impacts the latest versions for the ARM series. (in my case TMS570LC43xx).
Static variables report zero size with both tiarmofd and tiarmnm tools (ti-cgt-armllvm_3.2.2.LTS).

Same behavior with armnm and armofd(ti-cgt-arm_20.2.7.LTS)

When is ARM_20.2.8.LTS* expected to be released?(mentioned in EXT EP-11390)

Hi George,
thank you for your reply.
I understand that the CGT Legacy-TI is being decommissioned. But the same issue exists for the “new” ARM-CGT-CLANG family. Can you tell me if the CLANG series is planning to fix this bug? and in what time frame?

The tiarmclang compiler does not have EXT_EP-11390.

The EXT_EP-11390 , is not applicable to compiler. However, the problem is also present in this compiler.
I tried reading the ELF file via standard “arm-none-eabi-readelf” utility (site: developer.arm.com/.../gnu-rm)

But the behavior is the same.
Therefore the symbol table inside the ELF file is generated incorrectly.

Please try tiarmreadelf instead of arm-none-eabi-readelf. Does that work?
