TMS320F28384D: Does DSP built-in voltage supervisor to monitor VDDIO and VDD?

Part Number: TMS320F28384D

Tool/software:

Hi champs,

My customer would like to know if F2838x devices support any hardware to monitor VDDIO and VDD voltages, to determine the over or under voltages situation happens?

Please advise your comments, thanks for help.

Regards,

Luke

  • Hi Luke,

Please see section 7.10.1 (PMM) of the datasheet.

There is nothing to monitor for overvoltage events, but BOR and POR will monitor for undervoltage.

  • Hi Ben,

My customer complained that the voltage tolerance of VDD was too small, only 60mV tolerance, according to the Recommended Operating Conditions table. He was concerned that this low VDD voltage tolerance could cause system problems if the DSP device was used in an environment with unstable power supplies.

Please advise your comments on this question, thank you.

I think that we can only recommend to the customer that they design their board such that VDD stays within our recommended operating conditions. If they do not do this, the MCU may reset unexpectedly.
