TMS320F28379D: CCS thinks that C2000ware is not installed - but it is!

Tool/software:

I am configuring a new laptop with TI development tools, using the same products as on an older computer. The older computer has been running CCS version 12.4 and C2000ware version 5.02.00.00 for over a year.

I installed the same two products on the new computer in the standard locations - C:\ti\ccs1240 for CCS and c:\ti\c2000\C2000Ware_5_02_00_00 for C2000ware. Using a project that compiles cleanly on the older laptop, I attempted a build on the newer laptop. The build fails with the error message:

**** Build Finished ****
Buildfile generation error occurred..
Product C2000WARE v5.2.0.00 is not currently installed and no compatible version is available. Please install this product or a compatible version.
Build stopped..

Under project Properties/Resource/Linked Resources the path to C2000ware is correct.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling C2000ware. The error still persists.

What can have gone wrong and how can I fix it?

Hi Thomas,

Are you able to build any out of the box examples imported from C2000Ware? It is possible the C2000Ware was installed through Resource Manager which changes some dependencies in the project.

I saw that post, but the C2000ware copy that could not be found was freshly installed one month ago from the install file C2000ware_5_02_00_00_setup.exe which I downloaded from the TI web site.

I saw the link you mentioned. Because my original installation was not from Resource Manager, I thought that post did not apply to my situation. I did uninstall and re-install C2000ware from the same installation file. CCS still does not think that C2000ware is installed.

I checked that the install folder is not encrypted, because in our environment, that might have been a problem. But none of the TI tool folders are encrypted.

If this is the only laptop that has the issue, it seems to be a system issue. Please try reinstalling both CCS 12.4 and C2000ware and trying to import the project again.

Reinstalling CCC version 12.4 resolved the issue. I did not have to reinstall C2000ware.
