My doubt is generally we will directly connect the EPWM Pins of the DSP to the input of the Gate Driver . My question is weather we have to use any additional protection circuit between the EPWM pins and the input of the gate driver from the overvoltage and overcurrent protection? or we can directly connect the EPWM pins to the input of the gate driver. I am using the optocoupler based Gate Driver IC between the dsp and the gate driver for isolation but just asking is there any need to add additional protection circuits? Note that I am using this for high power 3 phase inverter design for motor applications.
