TMDSHVMTRINSPIN: How to run the the HVPMSMMTR using TMDSHVMTRINSPIN with a 230V AC supply?

Part Number: TMDSHVMTRINSPIN
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: CONTROLSUITE, MOTORWARE

Tool/software:

Greetings,

We have purchased the TMDSHVMTRINSPIN development board and the 200V PMSM that's supposedly compatible with it. However, for a 230V AC input from the wall mains, the rectified output is around 313 V DC and even if we bypass the PFC, the 313 DC Bus voltage will not be appropriate for the 200 V PMSM. What options do we have to run this motor now?

If we use a lower rated external DC-supply, then would that imply also reprogramming (designing) the PFC switching signals?

Thanks
Best Regards

Please take a look at the guides below

Download and install CONTROLSUITE http://www.ti.com/tool/CONTROLSUITE, and find the hardware design files in the folder as below.

    C:\ti\controlSUITE\development_kits\HVMotorCtrl+PfcKit_v2.1\~HVMotorCtrl+PFC-HWdevPkg

    qsg_hw_hvmtr_r1p1.pdf

    C:\ti\motorware\motorware_1_01_00_18\docs\boards\drive\hvkit_rev1p1\docs

You can connect to the DC-supply to the AC input connector as well, and bypass the PFC as shown in the guides as mentioned above.
