TMS320F28P659DK-Q1: XDS110 Probe Connections

Part Number: TMS320F28P659DK-Q1

Tool/software:

TI:

I am trying to make a small connector to our target board from the connections on the stand-alone XDS110 probe using the CTI-20 connector .  On figure 6-30 of the TMS320F28P65x datasheet, it shows the connections to the processor from the 20 pin JTAG header.  However, in the LaunchPad demo board, the on-board XDS110 has two additional lines that run to two Serial Communications Lines (TX/RX).  Are these connections important and, if so, how should they be connected to the stand-alone XDS110 Probe?

Thank you,

David

  • Hi David,

These connections are necessary if you intend to communicate with the F28P65x device using SCI/UART communication using the JTAG debugger (like bootloading).

The UART TX/RX connections are supported using the auxiliary interface (AUX) on the standalone XDS110 interface. Please refer to Section 2.4 in the XDS110 Debug Probe User Guide for more details:

    Best,

    Matt
