During the assessment, I encountered a few technical limitations that may impact its suitability for safety-critical aerospace and e-mobility systems.
Key Points of Concern:
- Lack of Lockstep Architecture:
- While TMS320F28379D supports dual-core operation, it does not offer native hardware lockstep for functional safety use cases.
- Does TI offer any hardware or software-based redundancy solutions for meeting DAL-B requirements?
- PWM & ADC Synchronization:
- ePWM and HRPWM provide excellent resolution, but I would like to confirm whether there is native support for high-speed ADCs with deterministic latency and tight PWM-ADC sync for FOC in high-performance systems.
- Simulink & Safety Toolchain:
- We appreciate the native Simulink support provided by TI. For DAL-B compliance, does TI offer tool qualification kits, safety lifecycle documentation, or recommended workflows for integration into certified toolchains?
- Functional Safety Documentation:
- Although a Functional Safety Manual is available, could you clarify if TI provides safety libraries, runtime diagnostics, or diagnostic coverage data necessary for DAL-B certification?
- CAN FD and AUTOSAR OS Support:
- Are there any plans to support CAN FD or AUTOSAR-compliant RTOSes on current or future C2000 devices?
