I'm still investigating SSU module because when i found " Allow NonMain Flash erase before loading data to Flash memory" i read that device may get locked so i'm trying to know more about that to avoid any issue.

are you sure that allowing this option will not lock the board? and if that happen is there are recovery mechanisms, or it will be locked permanently?

Hi Mahmoud,

Yes, this option will be needed in order to program SECCFG.

The only way to lock the board in this way is to erase both the active and inactive SECCFG sectors in Flash and not reprogram them. If this were to happen, the device would be permanently locked.

There shouldn't be a concern of this happening in your use case.

I have allowed that option but there was another error has shown...


My end goal is to detect the stack overflow using ERAD module, when i configured the ERAD it didn't detect the stack overflow, and no interrupt has been generated.

i was following the ERAD example for stack overflow detection using sysconfig and nosysconfig.
i started to add stack but i found that i have to configure the SSU first.

what do you recommend?

I'd like to clarify the project that you were using when you encountered the issues you showed in your latest screenshot. Was this when you tried to program the  '"ssuIpc_ex1_basic_cpu1_cpu3_multi_c29x1" example or a custom sw project for your ERAD use case? 

If it's your own software, could you please try with the SDK example for ssu that you pointed out?

Are you able to reconnect to the device?

What BANKMODE is the device currently on?

Did you configure the SSU for SSU MODE 1, SSU MODE 2 or SSU MODE 3?

These issues showed in my custom SW project., the SDK example working fine.

I am able to reconnect to the device after performing power cycle, i am using BANKMODE (2) and SSU MODE 1.

I added stack via stack module inside system security configuration (some stacks generated by default after enabled the SSU).

i was debugging to find the issue, the MCU running fine in the normal case but while testing the stack overflow by calling a recursive function this error is shown up.

I have tested the ERAD interrupt by "Interrupt_force" API and the MCU can hit the handler.

when i added "ESTOP0" in the recursive function with counter to increment after reaching 100 hits i was able to it every time i continue the debugger, but after stopped the session the error shown up again.

Note that I have tried "erad_ex6_stack_overflow_detect_syscfg" example and it was detecting the interrupt of the ERAD "but my custom project not able to do that".
