TMDXIDDK379D: Output of inverter stage not available - jumper configuration

Part Number: TMDXIDDK379D
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320F28388D, C2000WARE

Hi team,

during setup of TMDXIDDK379D an issue with the IGBT gate driver supply appears.

Steps taken before:

  • inserted MCU daughter card into H1 connector slot and kept the output terminal of inverter open
  • applying 150V DC input with programable DC power supply
  • 15V/5V/3.3V from DC power supply by means of M4 and M8 modules
  • PWM signals from control card TMS320F28388D are generated correctly (6 space vector modulated PWM waveform( PWM signal for upper and lower MOSFET of individual legs are complimentary in nature with dead band of 4 micro second) from MCU)
  • Issue: IGBTs are not switchting
  • Observations:
    • Voltage between Vbs-U and BS-U is only 2.8V - shoul dbe 15V → leading to IGBT tripping
    • Supply voltage between point (VddU-GND, VddV-Gnd, VddW-Gnd and VddN-Gnd ) is 15V
  • Are there any specific board settings for proper bootstrap charging?
