How can I read my PSP when my WDT fires?

I am using the F28M35x Concerto with CCS V4.2.5 and compiler code generation tools 4.9.5. I am trying to determine the cause of a WDT interrupt. I tried to break on the int handler but it did not catch. I have attempted to implement Bob Maris's assembly code technique but cannot get it to compile. Does anyone have a suggestion for how to do this?

Thanks,

Pat

  • Hi Pat,

Is this still an issue for you? I am unfamiliar with Bob Maris's assembly code technique, could you provide some more insight into that?

    Thanks,

    Clinton

  • Clinton,

Thanks for your reply. My primary issues are with the Concerto F28M35H52C1 chip. I am essentially running the PLC example firmware supplied by TI for that chip. The specific question concerning the use of S0-S7, I think I have answered as it appears that the PLC example code on the C28 side has used all the shared RAM, leaving me with only a minimum of what I need on the M3 side. So this question is probably answered.

But, I need to know whom I can communicate with concerning the Concerto and the PLC example. I have been told that the PLC group prefers email direct. To whom should I direct my email requests?

My current question concerns the requirements for initially loading a new PC board to be able to download my application. I just received new PCBs with the concerto and ftdi circuitry that was essentially lifted from the F28M35xx ISO Control card. I cannot communicate with the USB on any of the boards. When I try to load the FTDI chip using MProg and the XDS100_wUART.ept template. After loading the template and scanning, it tells me that a blank device is found. I erased it and it reported a successful erase. But when I try to program, it tells me "No Devices Found". What else should I be doing?

If you could help answer this question, I would be very grateful.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  • Clinton,

I didn't answer your question, sorry. I have purchased a Blackhawk emulator tool to trouble shoot the WDT problem. That question has been deferred until I can see if the new emulator will show me the problem.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  • Hi Pat,

I wanted to confirm that you were able to resolve the latest problem you mentioned. I'm basing this on the following post.

    http://e2e.ti.com/support/microcontrollers/tms320c2000_32-bit_real-time_mcus/f/171/p/231944/817003.aspx#817003

    Thanks,

    Clinton

  • Hi Clinton,

Yes, I did resolve the immediate problem. I do have outstanding problems that I have worked around for the time being. I have addressed these in previous posts as well as email to the PLC contact. However, that contact no longer responds, so I need to know whom to contact concerning the PLC software / firmware problems, in particular issues involving the Concerto chip. Is it still the preference to handle all PLC related issues through email? The E2E community seems to have little information concerning PLC and Concerto, would you agree, or am I just not locating them?

Particular information that seems to be missing in the Concerto eval kit is the FTDI template required for the USB implementation on the F28M35xx ISO Control Card. I had to recreate it by downloading the current data from the device on the eval board.

Also, the schematic for the Power Line Comms Dock that includes the schematic for the USB-JTAG (macro) shown only in block form. I need the schematic for that too as I anticipate including the 14 pin JTAG connection on a future revision of my PCB. Could you help me with that? It's probably a common design used on several cards.

    Thanks,

    Pat

  • Hi Pat,

Are you still in need of a point of contact regarding PLC?  Also, I can look into finding those JTAG schematics if you are still in need of those.

    Walter

  • HI Walter,

It would be good to know who the contact is now? Is this still an email only contact - not on E2E?

    Thanks,

    Pat
