Programming F28335 Through eCan Bus

Hi all,

There are two common ways to load program to F28335 internal flash, one is the programming in CCS and the other is using Uniflash tool. But both of these ways are loading programs through JTAG. Is it possible to refresh the program in F28335 through ecan bus? Is there any application note or example about ?

JengDa,

F28335 devices have a ROM bootloader. One of the boot modes is CAN-A boot. you can read about it in the F2833x Boot ROM User's Guide, SPRU963, downloadable from the TI web.

Hi David,

Document SPRU963 is actually about loading ROM data via CAN just as Bootloader functions,Version number, release date and checksum,Reset vector, Illegal trap vector (ITRAP),CPU vector table (Used for test purposes only),IQmath Tables, Floating-point unit (FPU) math tables. So, we need to load application code data to flash via eCAN peripheral, Is there any application note or example about it ?

There is no Application note that deals solely with programming the flash via eCAN. However, this app.note provides you a good idea of what that would entail: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprabv4a/sprabv4a.pdf The basic idea is to use the eCAN bootloading option to transfer the flash programming algorithms and the file to be programmed.
