HVBLPFC kit issues

Hi Folks,

I'm a technical sales engineer based out of India. One of my customers recently purchased the c2000 based BLPFC kit for evaluation. The kit instructions stated that it has to be powered up on 110V 60Hz AC. the kit is rateed for loads up to 300W. The issue is that the customer accidentally skipped that instruction and powered it on 220Vac 50Hz supply (that's the rated power supply in India). One of the MOSFETs failed and was replaced. 

It'll be great if someone can guide me on how to power it up on 230V without damaging the MOSfFETs? Do we need to add a diode to prevent the Inrush? this is critical to his application as he develops power management units and wants to implement the same design on the EVM but for a rating of 3kV moving forward.

    Please use an AC source to power it up. Set the AC source first to 120V, 50Hz and power up the EVM.

    Once the EVM is up and running with some load (100W or so) then change the input voltage to 220V.

    The inrush at 220V is too high and so this should always be started with 120Vac.

    You can try changing the inrush control resistor to 50 ohm and start it with 220V. The EVM currently has a 5 ohm inrush control resistor.
