Calculate temperature from Rs online

Thank you for this helpful link. I've noticed some unexpected behaviour, can you think of a reason for this?

If I increase the load of my motor, the current is increasing too as expected, but the Rs_online value is decreasing at the same time. If I remove the load again, the current go back to the initial smaller value and the Rs_online value is increasing to the initial value too. Is there a reason for this reversed behaviour?

that obviously doesn't make any sense...I would go back through the project again. Are you using your own HW or one of our EVMs?

I've used the unchanged lab07 and the behaviour is the same.

I've first used a greater motor speed to increase the electrical current. but because the value of Rs decreased, I thought of a self cooling effekt from the greater air current through the motor.
Because of this, I've set a constant speed and manually slowed down the motor with my fingers to increasee the electrical current (mechanical speed was held constant by FAST). The value of Rs was decreasing in this setup too.

I've added all my modifications (Buttons, UART, ...) to lab02b, so I thought adding Rs_online there would be the simpler task.

you will want the capability in 5b to update the speed gains at a minimum. 2a doesn't let you do this.

correct, increasing speed with no load doesn't guarantee increase of Rs. Just using your fingers isn't the best solution either. It's hard to leave them on long enough to generate enough current and change in heat for many motors. If there is a way you can hook it up to an actual constant load that would help.

I've attached my user.h and a screencast (animated gif) of the debugged variables. After some seconds, I've started to increase the load with my fingers (beginning 85mA, later approx. 350 mA). If the load is not enough to produce a temperature increase in the motor windings, shouldn't the Rs value stay at the starting value?

I don't note anything wrong in your user.h

The Rs is certainly decreasing though...this one is out of my area of expertise. I've sent on to someone else to help answer.
