Hi all,

I am developing an PFC circuit using control circuit with TMS320F28035 MCU, My developed control circuit (with MCUs are produced in 2013 or earlier) brought good qualities of PFC circuit. But when I want to make more control circuits (with newer TMS320F28035 (2014 or 2015)), I got problem, with the same schematics and same code, the new control circuits made unstable output voltage of PFC, I must significantly decrease f_cut of controller to get stable PFC voltage, but when f_cut is decreased the qualities of PFC cannot meet a need demand.

Could anyone help me to resolve this?

Hi Tien,

When you say that this uses the same code, is this using an identical .out file to program the devices, or is it using the same source C code? Using the same .out file would help point to an issue with changes in the hardware, while re-compiling the same C code could still leave open the possibility of a SW issue.

How many devices from each group (old vs new) have you tested that are working / not working?

Have you tried soldering a new device onto one of the old PCBs?

Hi Devin Cottier,

I used the same C code and the same compiler (Code Composer Studio 6.1.1, compiler version:TI V6.4.6) to load program for MCUs.
With the old devices I tried with 15 samples, and 20 samples for new devices. I also tried soldering a new device onto a good old PCB (good with old MCU) and got the same bad results as new PCBs.

Tien,

Your situation suggests you will need to test the PFC step by step to find the source of the problem. So, pls run the open loop test as we outlined in the user guide and check the ADC results. If it looks ok then run the closed current loop. Finally, test the full closed voltage loop operation.
