TMS320F28027: Does c2000 controllers have built-in mechanism to detect power fail?

Hi All,

I want to save few values in flash when power goes OFF. Is there any built-in support in c2000 that generates power-fail interrupt? If not, what are other alternatives?

Hello Prakash,

The F28027 has an internal BOR which trips on under-voltage conditions for the VDDIO rail, but it is not an interrupt. It forces the device into reset at which point you will not be able to save off any information.

Your best bet would be to incorporate an external supervisor circuit set at a voltage above the internal BOR voltage and if the supervisor trips then set a GPIO as a flag to initiate your save sequence.
