CCS/LAUNCHXL-F28377S: Can I use BOOSTXL-DRV8301 with LAUNCHXL-F28377S as an Active Front End converter (three phase PWM rectifier)....?

Part Number: LAUNCHXL-F28377S
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BOOSTXL-DRV8301, DRV8301

Tool/software: Code Composer Studio

Hello,

I have one boostxl - DRV8301 kit and  i have used it  as three phase VSI with LUNCHXL-F28377S. It is working fine. But now i want to use boostxl-DRV8301 kit as an three phase PWM rectifier with voltage oriented control. i want to check my control firmware for AFE. May i use it? plz give me some guidance.

Thanks and Regards,

Jaimin Mehta.

  • It's ok for simulate a rectifier, you can connect the 3-phase input to motor connection of inverter, and limit the input voltage.
  • Hello Yanming,

I have done same way as you told. I have connected three phase input after line reactor and given input voltage to DRV8301. DC side no load. I have seen here that dc bus and ADC feedback ground is common means power ground and DSP controller ground is common.

I am giving input from 3 Phase AC, when I am measuring in oscilloscope I am getting line to line voltage with sine waveform but I am not getting sine waveform with line to neutral. It’s like Sine with 3rd harmonic from upper side and flat from lower side.

So, what is the solution for this problem…? How can I get Sine waveform in phase(Line to neutral) voltage….??

    Thanks and Regards,

  • Right. This is 2-level inverter and common ground for control and power. You'd better to refer to standard 3-phase rectifier to know how to change the kit as a rectifier.
