Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3813
Datasheet (SPRS584L) chapter 6.5.2 On-chip Power-On Reset (POR) and Brown-Out Reset (BOR) Circuit states
"If overvoltage or undervoltage conditions affecting the system is a concern for an application, an external voltage supervisor should be added."
while the older RefGuide(SPRUGL8C) chapter 7 VREG/BOR/POR states
"Additionally, internal power-on reset (POR) and brown-out reset (BOR) circuits monitor both the VDD and VDDIO rails during power-up and run mode, eliminating a need for any external voltage supervisory circuits"
Actually my automotive customer is using an TPS3813K33-Q1 supervisor but looking at F28034 spec I doesn´t see a gap a where this supervisor is useful.
Even TMS320F280x to TMS320F2802x/TMS320F2803x Migration -> 8.9 VREG/POR/BOR states “eliminating a need for any external voltage supervisory circuits”.
Am I right and can you clarify the contradictory statements?
