TMS320F28375S: PCB power plane target impedance

Part Number: TMS320F28375S

C2000 Team,

A customer is trying to optimize the number of decoupling caps on their F28375S board, and is asking if we have established a PCB power plane target impedance for the device.  The target impedance is the characteristic impedance of the printed circuit board power and ground planes.  TI has an appnote SWPA222A that does this analysis for an OMAP4430 processor.  I have not seen similar for C2000 processors, but wanted to ask.

Thank you,

David

  • David,

This is not something that we have done for this device and I am not sure of any plans to do so. Do you see this as a common question from customers? We have had good results with our ControlCards as they are built and more focus is being put into designing these with the intention of achieving as close to DS parameters as possible. If this is something that you find valuable, we can have some offline discussions to see what might need to be done.

    Regards,
    Mark
