Hello All-

If I want to run my bldc hub motor using speed control with hall sensors as feedback, what code changes do I need to do to the default firmware?

This reference design is a sensorless-FOC using the sinusoidal wave based FAST estimator, don't need and support hall sensor feedback. You might refer to the sensored BLDC example project in below folder if you install controlSUITE. And you might also find all documents supported the project in controlSUITE.

TIDM-1003 include hall sensor connector (apparently for no reason) and a header with UART pins (TX/RX), where does the SCI/UART interface section resides in the code?

Both are just reserved for future or customer development, there is no supporting example code in the project which only focuses on motor drive control based instaSPIN-FOC.
