For F281x the capture functionality is part of the EV (EVent Manager) examples.

If it should be for the F2812:

Go to the archived workshop page: http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/C2000_Archived_Workshops , Download the material for Revision 5.2; at the end of chapter 7 (Event Manager) thers is a lab exercise, which uses the CAP to measure the pulsewidth and frequency of a 2 kHz signal.
